Precinct SLC028 is in State House District 21. For party caucus / event organization purposes, we call this our Leg District. We are in State Senate District 10 and U.S. Congressional District 2. These three political administrative units are the keys by which Salt Lake County GOP party leadership is organized.
The entire precinct is also in State School Board District 5, Salt Lake City School District Precinct 1, Salt Lake City Council District 1 and Salt Lake County Council District 1.
We are the precinct encompassing the state fairgrounds. The area includes River's Bend Senior Center and the Northwest Recreation Center, which lie west and northwest of the fairgrounds. The precinct is bounded on the west by the east side of Redwood Road, on the north by the south side of 500 N, on the east by the west side of 1200W, then the state fairgrounds, which includes the Fairpark DMV office. Geographically the precinct extends into an industrial area south of North Temple, but for practical purposes the residential boundary is along North Temple, including the KOA complex. The precinct area includes a stretch of Jordan River Trail, Constitution Park and Cottonwood Dog Park.
Our Vote Center (polling place) and drop box are at the River's Bend Senior Center, 1300 W. 300 North (at Clark Avenue x Oakley).
